How to check whether the sealing performance of the freezer door is good
You can check whether the sealing performance of the freezer door is good by the following methods:
1. Visual inspection
Observe the door gap: When the freezer door is closed, carefully observe the size of the door gap. If the door gap is uniform and small, it usually indicates good sealing performance. If the door gap is uneven in width or there is a noticeable large gap, there may be a sealing problem.
Check the sealing strip: Check whether the sealing strip is intact and not damaged. The sealing strip should fit tightly between the door frame and the door panel without loosening, falling off or deformation. If the sealing strip is damaged or aged, it will affect the sealing performance.
2. Tactile inspection
Touch the door gap with your hand: Gently touch the door gap with your hand to feel whether there is airflow blowing out or sucking in. If you can feel obvious airflow, it means that the sealing performance is not good.
Press the sealant strip: Press the sealant strip with your fingers to check its elasticity. A good sealant strip should have a certain elasticity and be able to quickly return to its original shape after being pressed. If the sealant strip is too hard or too soft, or does not return to its original shape after being pressed, it may need to be replaced.
3. Check auxiliary tools
Use a candle or lighter: With the door closed, place a candle or lighter close to the door gap. If the flame flickers or goes out, it means there is airflow through the door gap and the seal is not good. This method can detect smaller airflow leaks.
Smoke test: You can use a smoke generator to generate smoke, and then hold the smoke close to the freezer door. If smoke seeps out from the door gap, it means there is a problem with the sealing performance. The smoke test can more intuitively observe the leakage of airflow.
4. Temperature check
Feel the door surface temperature: Touch the surface of the freezer door with your hand. If the door surface temperature is significantly different from the ambient temperature, it means that the freezer door has good insulation performance and may also have good sealing performance. If the door surface temperature is close to the ambient temperature, there may be a poor seal causing cold air leakage.
Use an infrared thermometer: Use an infrared thermometer to measure the surface temperature of different parts of the freezer door. If the surface temperature of the door is uniform and low, it means the seal is good. If the temperature of some parts is significantly higher than other parts, there may be a sealing problem.
Through the above methods, you can check the sealing performance of the freezer door more comprehensively. If the sealing performance is found to be poor, timely measures should be taken to repair or replace the sealing strip to ensure the normal use of the freezer door and energy saving effect.
