Roller shutters are exposed to the elements for extended periods, easily accumulating dust, grease, and other stains. Regular cleaning can maintain their clean appearance and extend their lifespan. The following are the specific cleaning steps:

1. Prepare cleaning tools and reagents

First, prepare appropriate cleaning tools and reagents to avoid damaging the door material. Tools should include soft cloths, sponges, or soft-bristled brushes; avoid using steel wool, hard-bristled brushes, or other sharp tools to prevent scratching the door's surface coating. For reagents, it is recommended to use mild, neutral detergents, such as regular dish soap, diluted before use. Avoid using strong acids or alkalis to prevent corrosion of the door. Additionally, you can lay a waterproof cloth or old newspapers on the ground to prevent wastewater from contaminating the floor during cleaning.

2. Remove surface dust and impurities.

Before cleaning, fully lower the door to ensure all surfaces are in contact. Use a dry, soft cloth or soft brush to gently wipe the door surface to remove dust, leaves, sand, and other impurities. Wipe along the grain of the door, paying special attention to seams and corners where dust can easily accumulate, to prevent impurities from rubbing against the door during subsequent wet wiping and causing scratches. If impurities are difficult to remove, gently pat them or use a hairdryer on a cool setting to blow them away; do not rub vigorously.

3. Targeted treatment of stubborn stains

For stubborn stains such as oil and water on the door, pour diluted neutral detergent onto a sponge, gently press the sponge to absorb the detergent, and then gently wipe the stain. Repeat several times until the stain is removed. Use moderate pressure during wiping to avoid excessive force that could cause the door coating to peel off. If the door is made of metal, avoid leaving the detergent on for extended periods; after wiping, promptly wipe away any residual detergent with a damp cloth to prevent corrosion of the metal surface.

4. Proper maintenance after cleaning.

After all stains have been cleaned, dampen a clean cloth with water, wring it until semi-dry, and wipe the entire surface of the door to remove any residual cleaning agent and wastewater. After wiping, dry the door thoroughly with a soft, dry cloth, paying particular attention to door seams and rollers to prevent moisture from causing rust or damage. Once the door is completely dry, raise and lower it a few times to check for smooth operation and ensure the cleaning process did not affect the roller shutter door.
